Position Summary The Memory Care Medical Technician delivers personalized care and administers medications to residents living with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other memory impairment conditions. This role combines precise clinical duties—such as medication administration and vital sign monitoring—with specialized behavioral support, ensuring a safe, structured, and compassionate environment.
Core Responsibilities Medication Administration:
Prepare, administer, and document daily prescription and over-the-counter medications in compliance with state regulations, physician orders, and facility policies.
Specialized Care & Observation:
Monitor physical health changes, cognitive shifts, and behavioral patterns in memory care residents; promptly report changes to the nursing team or director. Communicate with pharmacy's and physicians to coordinate medication orders and reorders Maintain Medication Supply Room - Ensure an organized, secure and clean environment in accordance with
MAR, LIC 622
licensing requirements Conduct/assist with medication cart audits
Documentation & Records:
Maintain accurate Health Records and medication administration records (MAR); complete incident reports immediately when necessary.
Emergency Response:
Serve as a primary responder during emergency situations, medical events, or resident distress calls within the unit. Key Qualifications & Requirements Requirement Category Specification Education & Certification Preferred - High School Diploma or GED Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in senior living, long-term care, or memory care preferred. Certifications Current CPR and First Aid certifications; state-required Dementia/Alzheimer's training completed upon hire. Core Skills Strong understanding of MAR systems, medical terminology, de-escalation methods, and active listening.
