Job Description

About Us:
AHA Turlock provides transitional housing and resident centered care services for clients suffering from mental health, addiction, and/or dual diagnosis. The ideal candidate wants to help break the cycle of clients moving from crisis centers to housing instability and back to crisis centers. The On-Call Med Tech will provide coverage at short notice for unplanned absences, planned absences, vacations, and leave coverage. During longer coverage periods like leaves of absence must be available to work during the AM shift, 4 days on, 2 days off with days off rotating.
Availability:
The ideal candidate for this position is available to work on-call as needed, and available to work full-time hours (when covering longer absences) on a 4/2 rolling schedule for the AM Shift (6am - 2:30pm) when needed. A 4/2 rolling schedule means you work four consecutive days followed by two consecutive days off, with your days off rotating each week (including some weekends). Please only apply if you are available to work a 4/2 rolling schedule and on-call as needed. The On-Call Med Tech position is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility or supplemental income. On-call staff are contacted when coverage is needed for unexpected absences or emergencies. While hours are not guaranteed, this role offers an opportunity to gain experience in a behavioral health environment and support residents when extra help is most needed. This position is responsible for carrying out the activities of daily living services to residents in accordance with their service plan in a given community. These duties include providing medication management services, personal care for all residents, communicating with medical professionals and families about the needs of residents. Essential Functions of the
Job:
Administer treatments in accordance with physician instructions. Identify any side effects or problems, and report refusals to the physician. Prepare and pass medication for residents as ordered by a physician, reporting any medication errors, side effects, or problems to supervisor or physician. Document administration or refusal of medication. Responsible for accurately completing all forms and communication notes related to and required by company policy and State regulations regarding medication administration and/or supervision. Demonstrate an understanding of safety procedures and precautions regarding the resident. Reports all incidents, accidents, unsafe or hazardous conditions to appropriate personnel. Responds to emergency situations, following proper emergency protocol. Takes vital signs and administers first aid in the event of illness. Assure availability of all medications prescribed for a resident and that medication on hand is that which is prescribed, is not expired, and is properly labeled in compliance with company policy and State regulations. Perform checks of vital signs and weight as assigned and maintains records of monthly vital signs and weight for each resident in compliance with company policy and State requirements. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must have at least one year of experience in a caregiving role or similar function.
Essential Skills:
Verbally able to articulate in person and over the phone. Able to communicate in written form and complete documentation as required by state and company policies. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Able to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and follow through with ideas. Follows company regulations. Must be able to read physician orders and match to Medication Administration Records for residents.
