Certified Medication Technician

Job Description

We are looking for certified Med Techs who can start immediately. We can offer 24-40 hours per week including every other weekend. Fernwood Rest Home is not a nursing home, we are residential care facility supporting up to 60 residents. If you have prior med tech experience, but your certification is expired, or if you're interested in but not currently certified, we will provide training, and /or help you become certified.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Fax new prescriptions to pharmacy and ensure they are filled and delivered
  • Restock residents' medications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation, including medication administration records and incident reports
  • Provide care and support to all residents
  • Report any changes in residents' baseline
  • Follow established protocols and systems for medication management
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations when handling medical records
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medication Technician or completion of a medication administration training program
  • Reliable transportation
Skills:
  • Proficient in medication administration and dosage calculations
  • Excellent communication skills, and willingness to be a team player
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to senior care
