Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following medical directives and protocols while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status effectively. Assist residents or clients with daily activities including mobility support, personal hygiene, feeding (including tube feeding), and dressing to promote independence and dignity. Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records. Support individuals with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies tailored to those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, ensuring safety and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans for patients with complex needs such as hospice or acute care requirements. Conduct medical procedures like catheter care or wound management as trained, always prioritizing patient safety and comfort. Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with a strong understanding of senior care and medical protocols. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration techniques essential for safe patient care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and record keeping. Ability to work compassionately with individuals who have disabilities or cognitive impairments while maintaining professionalism under HIPAA guidelines. Skilled in vital signs measurement, tube feeding procedures, catheter care, and other clinical tasks requiring attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and providing empathetic support to residents or clients. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments across various settings including assisted living communities, hospitals, or home health situations.
