Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to residents, particularly those with developmental disabilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report findings to nursing staff. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Assist with daily living activities and provide caregiving support as needed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate residents about their medications, including potential side effects and the importance of adherence to prescribed regimens. Participate in training sessions and ongoing education to stay current on best practices in medication management. Qualifications Previous experience in a nursing home or acute care setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and patient care practices is essential. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Cerner or Epic is a plus.
