We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Staff to join our team in providing exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a Care Staff member, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. JOB SUMMARY A
care staff person assumes the responsibility to demonstrate courtesy, respect, effective relations, and self control toward administration, supervisors, and co-workers. He/she performs indirect resident care and related nonprofessional services necessary for the personal needs and comforts of the resident.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalency is preferred. 2. Should be able to follow oral and written instructions.
SKILLS NEEDED
1. Must have verbal ability to communicate with residents, personnel, visitors, supervisors, peers, and other health personnel. 2. Will spend the majority of on duty hours standing or walking 40% of shift. 3. Will be lifting/pushing/handling resident carts, wheelchairs, equipment, and supplies 50% of shift. 4. Must be able to lift approximately fifty (50) pounds.
JOB DETAIL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates respect for all residents by observing both the Resident Bill of Rights and Civil Rights Policies. 2. Transports residents per wheelchair to meals or activities as requested. 3. Prepare and pass daily water pitchers to residents. 4. Continue & monitor with upkeep of resident rooms units and storage areas quarterly in designated areas as scheduled. 5. Stock supply closets as needed per shift. 6.
Other tasks may include:
provides residents with clean linens on a scheduled or PRN basis; clean and sanitize residents mattress & complete bed making washing and drying of facility/resident laundry; sorts and transfer clean linen from laundry cart to linen closets; cleans wheelchairs, closets, and cupboards per established schedule. 7. Responsibilities of the care staff person: accepts rotation of scheduled hour of duty as defined in personnel policy; completes continuing education requirements as required. will observe and carry out procedures for safety, infection control, and universal precautions; knowledge of current information on material safety data sheets; knowledge of safety and infection control policies and procedures for this facility; participates in fire, tornado, and disaster drills. 8. Failure to perform this job to the above specifications may result in termination of employment. 9. Abides by personnel policy of the facility.
