Job Description

We are Hiring a QMA at the Waters of Syracuse! The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
QMA JOB DUTIES
QMAs will administer the following medications Oral medications, including scheduled medications PRN medications, only after authorization of nurse, then nurse will assess and document effectiveness Inhalers Nebulizer treatments, only if nurse completes lung assessment before and after and documents findings Topical and rectal ointments Nasal sprays and drops Eye ointments and drops Ear ointments and drops Non-invasive treatments Observes residents for drug reactions and reports any concerns to the nurse immediately Monitors residents vital signs Calculates medication dosages and stocks the medication cart Documents what medications were given for the day on the medication administrator record (MAR) chart Reports to the nurse on duty general and specific information pertaining to the response of the residents to their medications or treatments and any other pertinent or appropriate information Reports to the nurse on duty for instructions before administering any PRN medication Audits documentation to assure accurate, complete, and timely recording of medications and treatments
QMA EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have current QMA, unencumbered state license and must be able to provide all necessary documentation.
