Rates are negotiable! Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medication administration, resident care, and healthcare regulations, with a passion for enhancing patient well-being. As a Certified Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications while providing compassionate support to residents across various care settings. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies. Maintain comprehensive medical documentation, including medication records, vital signs, and patient progress notes using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms. Monitor residents' responses to medication, report adverse reactions, and communicate effectively with nursing staff and healthcare providers. Assist residents with personal care activities, including hygiene, mobility, and activities of daily living, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support. Follow proper manual handling procedures during resident transfers or heavy lifting tasks to ensure safety for both staff and residents. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in ongoing training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and current healthcare regulations to stay compliant and informed. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) or equivalent credential recognized by the State Board of Nursing. Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and senior care best practices. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or EHR systems used within healthcare facilities. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Current CPR and First Aid certification; additional training in hospice or palliative care is advantageous. Strong communication skills for caregiver interactions and team collaboration. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling safely while maintaining resident comfort. Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records and personal information.
