Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA compliance and maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, promptly reporting findings to nursing staff. Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and hygiene to promote resident comfort and dignity. Document medication administration and patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or similar platforms. Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and tube feeding procedures while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and caregivers to deliver comprehensive resident-centered care that respects individual preferences and needs. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or EHR systems for accurate documentation. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and resident transfer techniques. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and resident personal care assistance standards. Excellent communication skills for caregiver collaboration and resident interaction; compassionate approach to patient care.
