Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following all state healthcare regulations and facility policies Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status regularly, documenting changes diligently in medical records Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for residents or patients Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies Support residents with specialized needs including dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care through compassionate engagement Prepare and document medication administration records (MAR) using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized medical procedures as trained and authorized Ensure safe manual handling and heavy lifting techniques during resident transfers or equipment setup Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to deliver holistic patient care Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification standards, and emergency response procedures Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or senior living facilities Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic healthcare practices Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is a plus Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and interpret physiological data effectively Excellent communication skills for caregiver collaboration and resident engagement Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice support, and memory care best practices Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications like basic life support (BLS) are preferred Familiarity with state Board of Nursing requirements for medication administration licensing or certification is essential Join our team to provide compassionate medication management and personalized resident care that truly makes a difference!
