Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Technician (Med Tech) who is DHS (Department of Human Services) Certified to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medication administration and patient care, with experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings. As a Med Tech, you will be responsible for accurately administering medications, monitoring residents' health status, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring specialized care, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other chronic conditions. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with physician orders and DHS regulations. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for adverse reactions or changes in health status. Assist with activities of daily living, including tube feeding, catheter care, and other personal hygiene tasks. Support residents with memory care needs, dementia care, hospice care, and other specialized senior care services. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care plans are followed. Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals according to safety standards. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical records management to support effective caregiving. Participate in ongoing training related to assisted living, acute care, working with individuals with disabilities, and other relevant areas. Qualifications DHS Certification as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) is required. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and medical documentation practices. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols. Experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple residents' needs effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
