Rise and Renew Recovery is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medication Technician (Med Tech) to support the safe and efficient medication management needs of our clients. The Medication Technician works as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team and under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff. This position is responsible for assisting with medication-related processes within the scope of the employee's training, certification, facility policies, and applicable state regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in a behavioral health and substance use treatment environment, able to maintain strict confidentiality, and committed to providing respectful, client-centered care. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with medication administration or medication assistance as permitted by training, certification, facility policy, and applicable regulations. Follow medication orders and the Medication Administration Record (MAR) accurately. Document medication administration, refusals, omissions, and other required information promptly and accurately. Maintain appropriate medication pass procedures and follow all medication safety protocols. Verify the correct client, medication, dose, route, and scheduled time before medication administration or assistance. Observe clients for concerns, changes in condition, or potential medication reactions and promptly report concerns to licensed nursing staff. Notify nursing staff of missed doses, medication refusals, medication discrepancies, or other medication-related concerns. Maintain accurate medication counts, including controlled medications when applicable and permitted. Assist with medication inventory and notify nursing staff when medications require refill or replacement. Receive, store, and secure medications according to facility policy. Maintain medication rooms, medication carts, and medication storage areas in a clean, organized, and secure manner. Follow procedures for medication deliveries, discontinued medications, medication returns, and medication disposal. Complete required shift-to-shift medication documentation and communication. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements. Follow infection-control, safety, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures. Maintain professional boundaries and interact with clients in a respectful, supportive, and trauma-informed manner. Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical, medical, and operations staff regarding client needs and concerns. Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, competency assessments, and continuing education. Immediately report medication errors, suspected diversion, safety concerns, or policy violations according to Rise and Renew Recovery procedures. Perform other duties related to client care and facility operations as assigned and within the employee's authorized scope of practice. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Current Medication Technician/Medication Aide certification or other medication administration credential if required for the duties performed under applicable Texas law and facility requirements . Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire. Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment, detoxification, psychiatric care, or a similar healthcare setting preferred. Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and electronic medication administration records preferred. Ability to accurately follow written medication orders, policies, and procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations. Must successfully complete all required medication administration training, competency validation, and facility-specific training prior to independently performing assigned medication-related duties. The Medication Technician does not independently assess, diagnose, prescribe, change medication orders, provide clinical interpretation of symptoms, or perform duties requiring a licensed nurse or other licensed healthcare professional. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts. Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine physical tasks associated with medication management and client care. Ability to respond promptly during emergencies. Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Employment Requirements Employment with Rise and Renew Recovery is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screening, including a background check and pre-employment drug screen, along with any other required employment verification, credentialing, or screening. Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 26.0 - 40.0 per week
