Job Description
Touchstone Communities is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Aide (PRN) to support residents in our Texas skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. In this as-needed role, you will safely administer medications, document accurately, and monitor residents for changes while supporting their comfort and dignity. Working alongside nurses, therapists, and caregivers, you'll contribute to personalized, faith-based, person-centered care in a homelike setting. This position is ideal for CMAs who value teamwork, integrity, and flexibility while growing their clinical skills and making a meaningful impact on seniors' lives. Responsibilities Administer routine medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and facility policies Accurately document medication administration, changes, and resident responses in electronic or paper records Monitor residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and promptly report to licensed nurse Assist with basic resident care needs, including comfort, safety, and hygiene support as directed by nursing staff Maintain medication carts, storage areas, and supplies in a clean, organized, and secure manner Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff Communicate respectfully and compassionately with residents, families, and the care team to support person-centered care Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other team members to support care plans and quality outcomes Required Skills Medication administration Medication documentation Electronic medical records (EMR) use Vital signs monitoring Infection control procedures Long-term care regulations Resident observation and reporting Basic patient care skills Time management HIPAA compliance
