Extended Job Title Medication Technician Position Description This position assists in the overall operation of the Medication Room at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX, and distributes patients' medications from filled prescriptions. Requisition

Major/Essential Functions Medication Administration:
Safely administer medications to patients. Demonstrate basic medication knowledge, including purposes, common side effects, and appropriate administration routes.
Documentation:
Ensure proper documentation of all medication administration, including refusals, in the EHR.
Medication Preparation and Inventory Management:
Prepare daily medication carts, blister packs, and supplies needed for each med pass. Maintain accurate inventory of medications; communicate any medication shortages, discrepancies, or ordering needs to their supervisor.
Medication Verification:
Verify patient-provided medications upon intake by contacting the dispensing pharmacy to confirm prescription details. Grant Funded? Experience in a correctional setting.
