Duties``` As a Youth Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with mental health conditions.
Your duties will include:
Conducting crisis interventions and providing emotional support to individuals in distress
Assisting with the care and treatment of individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Collecting and documenting data on patient behaviors and progress
Implementing behavior management techniques to promote positive outcomes
Providing counseling and support to individuals struggling with behavioral problems
Utilizing your experience working with children to provide appropriate care and support
De-escalation and crisis management
Enforcing of daily routines and activities
Assistance with group and team building exercises
Transition to and from school setting
Classroom assistances
Transition and supervision to and from off campus activities ```Skills``` To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
Crisis intervention: Ability to effectively respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support
PTSD care: Knowledge of treatment strategies for individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Social work: Understanding of social work principles and ability to collaborate with social workers on treatment plans
Data collection: Ability to collect, record, and analyze data related to patient behaviors and progress
Behavior management: Skill in implementing behavior management techniques to promote positive outcomes
Working with people with developmental disabilities: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, understanding their unique needs, and providing appropriate support
