Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff member specializing in Residential Detox! In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate guide and advocate for individuals navigating the challenging journey of substance withdrawal and behavioral health recovery. Your lived experience and empathetic approach will empower clients to feel understood, supported, and motivated toward positive change. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, recovery-focused environment where your skills in crisis intervention, mental health counseling, and harm reduction are essential. Core Duties Provide peer support and mentorship to clients during their detoxification process, fostering a safe and encouraging environment Assist clients in developing coping strategies through motivational interviewing and behavioral health techniques Monitor client well-being continuously, recognizing signs of crisis or distress and implementing appropriate crisis management interventions Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support for co-occurring disorders Document client interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards Support harm reduction initiatives by educating clients on safer substance use practices and relapse prevention strategies Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills in crisis intervention, addiction counseling, social work principles, and mental health support And other duties listed in detailed job description - provided upon hiring Requirements Open availability for all shifts: AM, PM, Swing, NOC High School Diploma or higher 6 months+ lived experience with addiction recovery OR mental health challenges is highly valued; relevant personal experience is a strong asset Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques Knowledge of behavioral health, mental health counseling, and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders Experience in mentoring or supporting individuals with mental health conditions or substance use issues Familiarity with harm reduction principles and motivational interviewing methods Ability to operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently and securely. KIPU experience is a PLUS. Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals seeking treatment and recovery support Pass criminal background check, Pass Drug screening and TB clearance and background check completed within required timeframes (and maintained annually) We value diversity in our team and are an EEO employer.
