Key Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or a minimum of 48 college semester units from an accredited institution. Verification of passing results from a county-wide instructional assistant examination as required under NCLB guidelines. Prior experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting highly preferred. Ability to effectively support students with extensive support needs in a structured instructional environment. Strong communication, flexibility, and collaboration skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support classroom instruction for elementary-aged students in a self-contained ESN (Extensive Support Needs) SDC caseload. Implement teacher-designed academic and behavioral plans, adapting strategies according to individual needs. Supervise students to ensure safety, engagement, and participation in school activities throughout the day. Assist with daily living skills, classroom transitions, and positive behavior interventions as needed. Collaborate with educators and therapists to provide comprehensive support to each student. Uphold all school policies and procedures, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
