Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Experienced Parahelper to support an autistic adult in a dynamic, engaging environment twice a week on Tues and Thursday from 8:30am-3:30pm . This role is vital in fostering independence, providing behavioral and educational support, and ensuring a safe, nurturing space for the individual. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, patience, and expertise in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorders. Responsibilities Assist the individual with daily activities, including personal care, communication, and social interactions Implement individualized support plans aligned with the person's IEP (Individualized Education Program) and behavioral goals Provide physical assistance as needed during activities or transitions to ensure safety and comfort Collaborate with other professionals such as teachers, therapists, and family members to develop and adapt curriculum and support strategies Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies tailored to the individual's needs Support literacy education, basic math skills, and curriculum development to promote learning and growth Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or special education needs Knowledge of expectations management, behavior management for students with disabilities, and early childhood development principles Proficiency in communication skills including writing daily reports and documenting progress accurately Experience working with children or adults in private school or special education settings preferred Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally Certification in being a nurse, nurse assistant is advantageous.
