Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. This role is designed for individuals who have lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges and are committed to helping others on their recovery journey. The Certified Peer Specialist will provide support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals in need, fostering hope and resilience through shared experiences. Duties Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them navigate their recovery process. Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and personal development. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients in setting and achieving personal goals. Assist clients in accessing community resources and services related to mental health and addiction recovery. Engage in crisis intervention as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Mentor individuals by sharing personal experiences and offering guidance based on recovery principles. Collaborate with other professionals in the behavioral health system to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies. Experience Certification as a Peer Specialist is required. Two years of recovery. Understanding of addiction counseling, social work, or mental health counseling is preferred. Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavioral health systems is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations. Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and mentoring practices is highly valued.
