Inc. Peer Support is seeking compassionate parents and caregivers who are interested in becoming Certified Parent Peer Specialists (CPS-Ps). The ideal candidate has lived experience raising or supporting a child or youth with emotional, behavioral, mental health, or substance-use challenges. This role uses personal experience, hope, and practical knowledge to help other families navigate behavioral health services, educational systems, community resources, and everyday family challenges. Previous professional peer-support experience is not required. Certification guidance, training, supervision, and ongoing professional development will be provided. Candidates must be willing to complete all required training and certification requirements. Header Duties Description:

The Parent Certified Peer Specialist (CPS-P) is responsible for providing peer support to parents who are raising a youth or young adult living with mental health, substance use or a co-occurring behavioral health condition. This position is charged with providing an orientation of services to families, assisting the youth and family with participating in services, and creating a resiliency (wellness) plan. The Parent CPS will build connections to Parent/Legal Guardian and assist in needs identification, solution brainstorming, and self-advocacy. The CPS-P is tasked with providing meaningful resources that support the youth and family to increase wellness and resilience.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Sharing lived experience to provide support to family and youth served;
• Engage and build relationships with parent/guardian during assigned center hours;
• Act as a partner and an intermediary between formal behavioral health staff and peers by providing/advocating for recovery-based services;
• Assist youth/parent in selecting appropriate services that suit their recovery;
• Empower the family to advocate for themselves, set goals and implement achievable steps towards reaching them;
• Co-facilitate and lead groups, which may include creating weekly topics;
• Refer to community-based resources, support and opportunities;
• Collect paperwork and comply with confidentiality procedures;
• Comply with all current policies as written in the organizational Employee Policy Manual; and
• Document notes in data system, respond to emails professionally and timely,
• Network with community partners and agencies to build resources
• Perform other assigned duties

Job Requirements & Competencies:

Identification as a parent peer with lived experience in raising a child, youth or young adult living with a mental health, substance use or co-occurring behavioral health condition. Must be eligible for certification as a Certified Peer Specialist- Parent in the state of Georgia or must already be a Certified Peer Specialist - Parent in the state of Georgia.

Requirements:

• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and car insurance
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Willingness to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks and attending trainings.

Proffered Certifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver raising or supporting a child or youth with emotional, behavioral, mental health, or substance-use challenges. No previous professional peer-support experience is required. We are seeking candidates with meaningful lived experience, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for helping families thrive. Must possess effective communication, listening, advocacy, and relationship-building skills. Must be willing to complete the required Certified Parent Peer Specialist training and certification process. Must be willing to participate in ongoing supervision, continuing education, and required organizational training. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Must be able to complete documentation accurately and on time. Must have basic computer, email, and virtual-meeting skills or be willing to learn. Must be able to work independently while remaining connected to the supervisory and service team. Must successfully complete all applicable employment, credentialing, and background-screening requirements.

Pay:

$23.50 - $30.00 per hour
