Position Summary:
An ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) Practitioner provides mental health services to assist persons with a mental health diagnosis to live as independently as possible. The ARMHS Practitioner will provide and supervise mental health services to recipients in their home and/or community. ARMHS services instruct, assist, and support the recipient in areas such as mental illness symptom management skills, interpersonal communication skills, community resource utilization and integration skills, relapse prevention skills, budgeting, healthy lifestyle skills and practices, nutrition skills, transportation skills, household management skills, employment-related skills.

  • Mental Health practitioners work as part of a treatment team, adhering to serve adults diagnosed with mental illness by:
  • Advocating for individuals to ensure they are receiving the appropriate services for which they are eligible, in need of and requesting, particularly when communicating with other service providers, family members, and other people.
  • Assessing functioning levels, strengths, needs and vulnerabilities of persons served to create a functional assessment.
  • Developing and implementing ARMHS treatment plans reflecting the needs identified in the Functional assessment.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate case records, reports, and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Understanding and implementing person centered practices.
  • Participating in group supervision monthly and other meetings as required.
Requirements:
Necessary Qualifications
  • Must Comply with and pass DHS background check.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's license.
  • Must possess valid auto insurance.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and settings within the community.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills, and the ability to be self-directed and self-motivated.
Applicants must also meet ONE of the following criteria: Have at least 4,000 hours (approximately 2 years) of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness. hold a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and: have at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness.
