The Resident Specialist will work closely with diverse populations, including youth, families, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those with behavioral health needs. Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Assist with intake processes, including data collection and documentation of resident information Implement behavior management strategies and conflict de-escalation techniques to maintain a harmonious environment Support residents with medication administration, crisis intervention, and behavioral health needs Conduct security checks, manual handling, and ensure resident confidentiality in all interactions Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, and other professionals to develop individualized care plans Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and case management documentation Facilitate communication between residents and their families while respecting cultural diversity and individual preferences Support high-risk populations by applying de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills as needed Assist with community outreach efforts to engage underserved populations and promote program participation Skills Supervising experience in residential or community-based settings Strong background in childcare, social work, behavioral health, or related fields Knowledge of security protocols, manual handling, CPR, first aid, and medication administration Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and mental health conditions Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively engage residents and team members Ability to manage conflicts calmly using de-escalation techniques in high-pressure situations Experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations Skilled in crisis intervention, behavioral health support, and client communication strategies Capable of working with youth, families, and high-risk populations such as those experiencing homelessness or housing instability Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs or home & community care experience is a plus Join us to make a positive impact every day!
