Responsibilities Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health conditions and substance use disorders, utilizing recovery peer support principles. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and exploring coping strategies through motivational interviewing techniques. Engage in crisis management and crisis intervention to ensure safety and stability during urgent situations, collaborating with clinical teams when necessary. Share personal recovery experiences to foster hope and motivation, promoting harm reduction strategies aligned with client needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies while documenting interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Work effectively with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and cultural competence to meet varied client needs. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, supporting their engagement with behavioral health services. Experience Prior experience working directly with individuals facing mental health conditions or substance use disorders is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, harm reduction strategies, and social work practices. Proven ability to manage crises effectively through crisis management and crisis intervention skills. Experience working with co-occurring disorders—mental health combined with substance use issues—is advantageous. Strong communication skills for client engagement, mentoring, and advocacy efforts. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes. Experience working with culturally diverse populations to ensure inclusive support services. $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
