Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding educational environment as a paraprofessional, supporting students with diverse needs in Lehigh County. These contract opportunities offer consistency through the school year and an engaging daily routine, dedicated to empowering school-age students and/or preschoolers. Immediate needs are focused on Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) classrooms, with placement options based on current priorities and your preferences whenever possible.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or in a school/special education setting Meet one of the following PA paraprofessional state requirements: 48+ college credits (official transcript required) Associate degree or higher Passing a state/local assessment (CDA or Credential of Competency) Willingness to complete the required para certification within 60 days if not already credentialed Strong, punctual attendance and reliable transportation within a 30-35 minute commute Flexible and comfortable with MDS classroom behaviors and personal care tasks (e.g., lifting, toileting, feeding) Ability to provide two professional supervisor references from a paraprofessional role
Role Responsibilities:
Support instruction and student participation in classroom and group settings Deliver assistance for both academic and behavioral needs, especially within MDS classrooms (functional/behavioral) Assist with personal care, daily routines, and hands-on activities as needed Contribute to a collaborative, positive learning atmosphere Adhere to school-day schedules (typically between 7:00 AM-3:30 PM)
