•PAY based on experience•Overview A Behavior Support Professional is responsible for providing effective behavioral interventions to clients in our I/DD waiver setting. The primary goal of a Behavior Specialist is to work with clients to help them develop positive and productive behaviors that will enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities o Conducting client assessments to determine the root causes of problematic behaviors o Developing behavior support plans based on client assessments o Implementing behavior support plans in a variety of settings o Collecting data to measure the effectiveness of behavior support plans o Modifying behavior support plans as needed based on data collection o Training clients, family members, and other support staff on behavior management techniques o Collaborating with other professionals, such as psychologists and social workers, to develop comprehensive treatment plans Requirements o Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field o Experience working with individuals with behavior challenges o Knowledge of behavior management techniques, including positive reinforcement o Ability to collect and analyze data to make informed decisions o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be certified to provide Behavior Management Services as required by I/DD Waiver Key Skills and Competencies o The ability to work with individuals with special needs o The ability to think critically and solve problems o The ability to work independently and as part of a team o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal o Strong organizational skills and proficiency in record-keeping
