Behavioral Health Technician, Residential Detox Regain Hope Detox and Recovery Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our residential detox and recovery team in Burbank, California. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working directly with clients in early recovery, understands the importance of professional boundaries and accurate documentation, and can remain calm and supportive in a behavioral health setting. The Behavioral Health Technician reports to the Lead Technician or Director of Operations and works closely with nursing, clinical, medical, and operations staff. Responsibilities Support clients throughout their daily programming and activities in a residential detox and substance use treatment setting. Observe client behavior, withdrawal symptoms, functioning, and general well being, and promptly report concerns to nursing or appropriate clinical staff. Obtain and document vital signs and other observations as directed by facility protocol and medical orders. Monitor and document client self administration of medications in accordance with facility policies, training, and scope of responsibility. Conduct regular client rounds and safety checks and accurately document observations. Provide supportive client check ins and appropriate redirection while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries. Assist with crisis intervention and emergency procedures and immediately notify appropriate clinical staff and management when concerns arise. Complete required shift documentation, including shift reports, client observations, safety checks, and other assigned documentation. Assist with urine drug screening and alcohol testing when indicated and within assigned responsibilities. Assist with transportation, community outings, recovery meetings, and other approved client activities as needed. Encourage clients to maintain appropriate personal spaces, bedrooms, and common areas as part of the therapeutic residential environment. Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, trainings, and in service education. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with
HIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, facility policies, and applicable confidentiality requirements. Maintain a safe, respectful, professional, and recovery focused environment for clients and coworkers. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Current RADT, SUDRC, or other applicable California substance use disorder registration or certification Valid California driver's license Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain prior to working independently Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to document clearly, accurately, and on time Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment during behavioral or medical concerns Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in residential detox, residential treatment, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or a related setting Experience working with clients experiencing substance withdrawal and early recovery Experience using Kipu or another behavioral health electronic health record Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements What We Are Looking For We value reliability, compassion, professionalism, good judgment, and teamwork.
