DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Drive residents and participants with alcohol and drug abuse issues to outside meetings, appointments, and outings on time according to the drive schedule
Remain in communication with Supervisor regarding drives and drive when needed; ensure that the interior portion of the company vehicles are clean at all times; monitor clients at all times during shift and communicate regularly with the clinical team.
Responsible for following department protocol for checking-out vehicles, proper use of equipment and maintaining contact with transportation office and/or shift supervisor
Conduct searches when needed; inventory client personal property with clients upon intakes; utilize good communication skills in working with clients, their families, and significant others on a daily basis and while in crisis
Ensure that the client activity and treatment schedule is adhered to; must be a role model at all times, and if applicable, shares personal experience, strength, and hope and act as a sobriety role model.
Ensure resident/participant, staff, volunteer, and vendor safety is adhered to at all times
Must dress appropriately with a collared shirt, nice pants or shorts, and hair must be neat with a clean-shaven face or trimmed beard/mustache (if applicable)
Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned property inside and out by re-stocking items, following up client chores, assisting them, and if necessary, completing client chores.
Monitoring medication with detox assessments
Perform drug and alcohol testing per protocol when necessary
Diligently monitor clients at all times during shift and overnight
Oversee the self-administration of medication process when needed, ensuring adherence to all medication policies and procedures, and accuracy.
Documentation of the processes; medication audits when assigned
Responsible for documenting client observation rounds, when applicable.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of client privacy and rights; maintains confidentiality of all medical, clinical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of clients and/or employees. Accesses and uses the minimum necessary client identifiable information to perform job responsibilities and only for authorized purposes. The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalency test, familiarity with the twelve-step program of recovery, and if in recovery, a minimum one-year continuous sobriety with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
RADT required if the BHT is to facilitate any groups or provide counseling services.
Current Adult CPR certification Current Adult First Aid certification Valid California Driver's License Valid TB Test Background Check Drug Screen Health Screen Live Scan Driving Record History Check Walking, bending, and kneeling which may occur with long periods of sitting in vehicle while transporting; must be able to participate in moderate lifting of 30 or more pounds (suitcases, packages, etc.). This position must be able to support client weight in case of emergency situation or client disability requiring assistance in walking, etc. There is a risk of exposure to bodily fluids infections, contagious / blood borne diseases, and chemicals (cleaning agents), an exposed risk to highway accidents, and an exposed risk to varying, unpredictable situations (i.e. client behavior).
