Job Description:
Seeking a part-time or full-time Rehabilitation Technician to support our rehabilitation department in delivering high-quality animal physical therapy. This position works under the supervision of a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and involves assisting with a caseload of patients recovering from surgery or injury, as well as those managing chronic conditions such as arthritis or neurological disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with initial evaluations and assessments of canine and feline patients, including gait analysis, range of motion, muscle condition and goniometry measurements.
Administer various therapy modalities under the guidance of a veterinarian certified in Rehabilitation such as: ○ Laser therapy ○ Therapeutic exercises ○ Manual therapy and massage ○ Electrical stimulation, PEMF, Therapeutic Ultrasound ○ Underwater treadmill therapy
Equipment and underwater treadmill maintenance
Monitor patient progress and adjust to updated treatment plans as needed.
Educate pet owners on home exercises, mobility aids, and ongoing care.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of therapy sessions.
Ensure a safe, calm, and positive environment for patients during treatments.
Recognition of animal behavior and use of positive reinforcement and low-stress handling methods.
Qualifications:
Certification in Canine Rehabilitation preferred (e.g., CCRVN, CCRVT, CCRP, CCAT) ○ If you are currently pursuing one of these certifications, please let us know.
Experience working with dogs in a clinical or rehabilitation setting
Strong understanding of canine anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic modalities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely
Physical Requirements:
Frequent kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods
