We Are Looking For:
Mental Health Technicians, Full-time, Part-time, and PRN availability
Shifts Available:
Days, 7am-7pm and Nights, 7pm-7am
Job Summary:
The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of a licensed nursing staff to geriatric patients. This position promotes a safe, therapeutic environment while assisting patients with daily activities, observing behaviors, documenting patient information, and supporting treatment goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
Monitor patient safety and conduct routine observations. Assist patients with activities of daily living. Encourage participation in therapeutic groups and activities. build positive, respectful relationships with patients. Document patient observations accurately and promptly. Assist with crisis intervention using approved de-escalation techniques. Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment. Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team. Follow all hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. BLS certification (or ability to obtain after hire). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
