Temporary contract Position Overview Cedar Park Group is seeking Psychiatric Technicians / Paramedical Assistants to provide direct patient support, monitoring, and safety oversight in a secure inpatient psychiatric environment. This position works as part of the healthcare team under professional supervision and provides hands-on patient care, environmental safety, and treatment support. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, and hygiene. Observe and document patient behavior, emotional status, vital signs, and symptom changes. Administer prescribed oral and injectable medications under supervision and monitor for side effects. Participate in implementation of individual treatment plans with nurses and psychiatrists. Facilitate structured therapeutic or recreational group activities, including coping-skills and social-engagement activities. Provide emotional support and promote social interaction and recovery-focused behaviors. Closely supervise patient interactions to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, treatment responses, medications, and behavioral observations. Promptly report significant changes to appropriate clinical professionals. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Assist with care planning, updating care goals, and implementing individualized interventions. Educate patients regarding medication adherence and self-care. Participate in on-the-job training, certification programs, and competency reviews. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Nursing assistant certification preferred . Minimum 6 months of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to perform basic nursing skills, including vital signs and activities of daily living. Basic understanding of psychiatric symptomatology. Current CPR card. Annual physical examination verifying ability to perform the job. Annual TB clearance. Annual influenza vaccination or completed declination. Drug-screen clearance. Background-check clearance. Valid, current State of Hawaii driver's license. Ability to recognize, report, and document changes in patient behavior. Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing. Ability to organize and manage time constraints.
