Under the direction of the Director of Nurses, the Recovery Technician (RT) assists the Nurses and Counselors with the treatment of patients with substance abuse. Recovery Technicians observe and assist patients, listen to their concerns, record their observations and report concerns to their Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Monitor patients and environment for safety. Update written charting system clearly and informatively. Conduct environmental and belongings searches, documenting all required information. Report any accidents or injuries of patients or staff to Supervisor. Assist in the care , including ADLs, of all patients. Assist as directed with intake and discharge process. Record and report all changes in the patients' presentation. Deal with stressful situations while maintaining composure and professionalism.
• Act as liaison to patients, staff and families. Engage with and support patients in their efforts to build recovery skills. Other duties as assigned; including, but not limited to simple meal preparation, housekeeping.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED, with some advanced training or education preferred. 1-2 years work experience in substance abuse. Current CPR certification. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with staff and patients in a professional manner. Must be able to work autonomously & follow treatment facility policies and procedures. Have basic knowledge of early recovery from substance abuse. Must be computer literate. Must have valid Massachusetts Driver's license.
Physical Work Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, stand, walk, sit, kneel, be able to climb stairs and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 - 40.0 per week
