We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral care team. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for providing daily supervision, support, and care to clients in a structured inpatient setting. The BHT helps ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment conducive to recovery. This includes direct client monitoring, participation in treatment support activities, cleaning duties, and food service support.
Duties:
Supervise and monitor clients throughout the facility to maintain safety and compliance with program rules. Conduct headcounts, room checks, and wellness checks at scheduled intervals. Clean and sanitize common areas, client bedrooms, bathrooms, and program spaces according to protocol. Receive and serve catered meals; monitor mealtime to ensure orderly conduct. Report behavioral observations, incidents, or concerns to clinical staff and document accurately. Assist with admissions, orientations, and discharges as directed. Support clients with daily activities and reinforce therapeutic goals. Participate in de-escalation and crisis management interventions as needed. Ensure all shift duties are completed and communicate relevant updates to oncoming staff. Transport clients to appointments or community outings when assigned. Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards at all times. Conduct Property and Physical Searches of Clients and belongings. Conduct Client UA Testing and documentation of results. Maintain daily Operations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) preferred, not required. At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health, substance use, or residential setting preferred. CPR/First Aid certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days). Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred. Reliable, compassionate, and team oriented. Strong interpersonal and observational skills. Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
