Overview Are you passionate about helping adolescents overcome emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges? Oakwood Treatment Center is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our residential behavioral health team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, psychology, counseling, social work, nursing, or human services. Position Details Full-Time 12-hour rotating schedule: 3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off Weekends and holidays required as scheduled Responsbilities Provide direct supervision and support to adolescents in a residential setting. Build positive and professional relationships with residents. Assist with daily routines, activities, and life-skills development. Support individualized treatment and behavioral goals. Monitor and document resident behaviors and progress. Participate in recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities. Use verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when needed. Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, supervisors, and other clinical staff. Complete, accurate, and timely documentation. Maintain resident confidentiality and professional boundaries. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm during stressful or crisis situations Ability to work with adolescents experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred:
Experience working with adolescents or young adults Behavioral health or residential treatment experience Experience in mental health, group homes, schools, juvenile services, or healthcare Education or coursework in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Nursing, or Education Crisis intervention or de-escalation experience
Pay:
$14.00 - $19.00 per hour
