Position Summary The TMS and Spravato Technician is responsible for providing safe, consistent, and compassionate treatment support for patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato® (esketamine). This is a direct patient-care and treatment-support position. The Technician's primary responsibilities include administering TMS treatments according to provider orders and established protocols, supporting Spravato treatment sessions, monitoring patients, obtaining vital signs, completing required documentation, maintaining treatment areas, and helping patients remain on schedule throughout their course of treatment. This position does not conduct treatment consultations, manage insurance authorizations, or oversee the referral/authorization pipeline. Treatment eligibility, clinical decision-making, and authorization management are handled by the appropriate provider and administrative team. Essential ResponsibilitiesTMS Treatment Administration
Administer TMS treatment sessions according to provider orders, established clinical protocols, and completed training.
Prepare the TMS treatment room and equipment before each patient session.
Confirm patient identity and treatment parameters before initiating treatment.
Position patients appropriately and consistently for treatment.
Assist the provider or trained team member with motor threshold mapping and redetermination procedures within the Technician's trained role.
Monitor patient comfort and tolerance throughout each treatment session.
Recognize and promptly report patient concerns, unexpected symptoms, treatment intolerance, or operational issues to the appropriate clinical team member.
Accurately document treatment parameters, patient tolerance, and required observations in the electronic medical record.
Maintain treatment equipment and immediately report equipment concerns according to established procedures. Spravato Treatment Support & Monitoring
Prepare the Spravato treatment area before scheduled sessions.
Support the clinical team during Spravato treatment days and follow established REMS and organizational workflows.
Obtain and accurately document required vital signs and patient observations at designated intervals.
Monitor patients during the required observation period and promptly communicate concerning symptoms, changes in condition, or abnormal findings to the appropriate licensed clinical staff.
Assist with completion of required treatment documentation and REMS-related workflow within the Technician's assigned responsibilities.
Maintain a calm, safe, private, and comfortable treatment environment.
Follow established discharge workflow and confirm that required clinical clearance has occurred before the patient leaves. Scheduling & Patient Treatment Support
Schedule and maintain recurring TMS and Spravato treatment appointments as directed.
Help patients understand their treatment schedule, attendance expectations, and routine treatment-day instructions using approved education materials and established protocols.
Contact patients regarding treatment scheduling, missed treatment appointments, or routine treatment-related updates as assigned.
Communicate scheduling concerns, repeated absences, or barriers to attendance to the appropriate team member.
Provide friendly, professional support to patients throughout their active treatment course. Documentation & Communication
Complete treatment documentation accurately and promptly after each session.
Document vital signs, treatment parameters, patient observations, and other required treatment information.
Maintain appropriate telephone encounters or scheduling documentation when assigned.
Communicate relevant patient concerns to providers and clinical leadership in a timely manner.
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication at all times. Safety, Compliance & Treatment Environment
Follow HIPAA, Spravato REMS requirements, OSHA regulations, infection-prevention standards, company policies, and treatment-specific safety procedures.
Complete required safety checks before treatment.
Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and patient-ready treatment rooms.
Clean and disinfect treatment equipment and patient-care areas according to established procedures.
Monitor routine treatment supplies and notify the appropriate team member when supplies need to be reordered.
Participate in required training, competency assessments, and continuing education related to TMS and Spravato treatment delivery. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Required Skills & Experience
Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, medical office, patient-care, or comparable service environment preferred.
Comfort working directly with patients experiencing depression and other mental health conditions.
Ability to follow detailed treatment protocols and provider instructions consistently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
Ability to obtain vital signs after appropriate training and competency validation.
Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, compassionate, and professional patient-care approach.
Ability to manage a treatment schedule and move efficiently between patients and treatment responsibilities.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn an electronic medical record system.
Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance. Preferred Qualifications
Previous TMS technician experience.
Previous Spravato, ketamine, psychiatric, behavioral health, or neurology experience.
Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs.
Experience with electronic medical records; familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus. Key Competencies

The Technician will spend the majority of the workday supporting or administering scheduled TMS and Spravato treatments, documenting care, monitoring patients, and maintaining an organized treatment environment.
