High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential services, direct care, human services, or a closely related setting, including at least one (1) year of lead-worker, shift-lead, or supervisory experience. An associate or bachelor's degree in behavioral health, psychology, social work, human services, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred and may substitute for up to one year of non-supervisory experience. Experience in a residential substance use treatment setting and in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and supervision is highly desired. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a current, valid driver's license and remain insurable under Tribal automobile insurance coverage. Must possess current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain and maintain certification within the timeframe established by the program. Must complete and maintain required training and competencies, including crisis prevention and de-escalation, medication self-administration support, infection prevention, emergency procedures, and other program-required training.
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician Shift Supervisor is a working, first-line supervisor responsible for the direct supervision, coordination, and support of Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) on an assigned shift and as assigned. The position helps maintain a safe, structured, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented residential environment; coordinates staff assignments and resident activities; monitors documentation and compliance; responds to emergencies; and works collaboratively with the Residential Operations Manager, clinical team, and other program staff to carry out each resident's treatment plan. The Shift Supervisor is expected to maintain an active presence in the milieu, model professional conduct, and perform direct-care duties when needed to support safe operations.
