Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians. This position works in our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Hartley Supported Living Sites serving individuals with behavioral health and/or substance use conditions. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance. This position requires frequent interaction with individuals experiencing behavioral health needs; standing, walking, and monitoring activity throughout the facility & the ability to respond to behavioral emergencies. Duties Provide direct supervision and support to individuals receiving services in the group home or supported living site. Monitor individuals for changes in behavior, mood, and safety risks and promptly report concerns to on-call staff staff as appropriate. Assist individuals with daily living activities as appropriate, including hygiene and meals. Encourage participation in treatment planning and recovery activities. Safety and Crisis Intervention Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu within the facility. Conduct safety rounds and visual checks in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Utilize approved de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to assist individuals experiencing agitation or distress. Participate in crisis response interventions when needed, following agency protocols and training. Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, or behavioral changes. Documentation and Communication Document observations, interventions, and client interactions in the electronic health record in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate shift logs and incident reports as required. Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding client status and needs. Participate in shift change reports and team meetings. Unit Operations Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility. Assist with transportation or coordination of transportation for individuals when required and authorized. Follow all agency policies related to confidentiality, HIPAA, safety, and infection control. Requirements High School Diploma / GED Valid WV Driver's License in good standing with access to a personal vehicle Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights is essential. Strong observational skills to monitor client health and behavior effectively. Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. A compassionate attitude towards individuals with mental health and/ or substance use disorders is a must. Required Skills and Competencies Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health conditions. Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles. Strong observation and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Basic computer and documentation skills. Physical Requirements 1. Frequent communications, verbal or written. 2. Frequent standing and/or sitting; and lift 25 pounds. 3. CPR & First Aid (or ability to obtain upon hire). 4. Crisis intervention and de-escalation training (such as Right Response or equivalent) required within designated timeframe.
