1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd Lakeland, FL Position Summary Midwives work as part of a team of professional and medical staff, providing a full range of primary health care services for women from adolescence beyond menopause. Midwives provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Certified Nurse Midwives will admit, manage and discharge patients. Standard Work:
APRN II Midwife Work closely with obstetricians and gynecologists in diagnosing and treating women with acute and chronic illnesses Assume management responsibility of a caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients Provide prenatal care to patients which includes physical assessment, patient education, nursing care and management of problems in accordance with approved nurse midwifery guidelines Provide family planning services Provide post-partum care, and lactation support
Competencies & Skills Essential:
Ability to deal with emotionally charged situations. An interest in the process of pregnancy and birth.
