Overview Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Midwife to provide comprehensive maternal and reproductive healthcare services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, a passion for women's health, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient care in diverse settings. As a Certified Midwife, you will play a vital role in supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods, ensuring safe and personalized care while fostering positive health outcomes. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care across the continuum of maternal health, including prenatal, labor & delivery, postpartum, and gynecological services. Assist with childbirth, including labor support, delivery assistance, and postpartum recovery management. Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans. Perform medical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, specimen collection, and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of medical records, care plans, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including obstetricians, nurses, sonographers, and other healthcare providers—to ensure coordinated patient care. Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning options, childbirth preparation, pain management techniques, and postpartum care. Monitor vital signs and conduct obstetric assessments during labor to ensure maternal and fetal well-being. Assist with obstetric surgeries and procedures such as cesarean sections when necessary. Requirements Valid certification as a Midwife with current licensure; additional certification as an Advanced Practice Provider is preferred. Proven experience in hospital settings with inpatient and outpatient care environments; out-of-hospital birth experience is advantageous. Demonstrated expertise in suturing, OB/Gyn procedures, labor & delivery support, and obstetric surgery assistance. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation and records management; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding is desirable. Strong knowledge of women's reproductive health, physiology, anatomy, family planning methods, and maternal health public policies. Experience with sonography techniques related to obstetrics is a plus; ability to perform specimen collection/processing is required. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and advanced life support are mandatory. Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within clinical teams. Competence in physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, medication administration—including injections—and client education on health topics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information; experience with medical office operations is beneficial.
