Job Summary An established hospice company is seeking a compassionate and dynamic Hospice Music Therapist to join their dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will utilize the therapeutic power of music to enhance the quality of life for patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Your expertise will foster emotional comfort, alleviate pain, and support holistic care through individualized and group music therapy sessions. Responsibilities:
As a Hospice Music Therapist you will: Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care Plan music therapy interventions Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities for the purpose of improving or maintaining mental and physical function and quality of life Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with the patient and / or family-of-choice Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested and determined appropriate by therapist. Support the bereavement program at the site level Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy from an accredited program; certification as a Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT) preferred. Previous experience with terminally ill patients / families is highly desireable Must have reliable automobile, valid driver's license and the minimum state required liability auto insurance. Experience providing hospice care or palliative services is preferred; background in psychiatric patient care or dementia care is a plus. Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
