Job Description
As a Music Therapist at Thom Child and Family Services, you will provide home- and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. You will assess strengths and needs, develop individualized music-based treatment plans, and use evidence-informed interventions to support communication, motor, social-emotional, and cognitive development. Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team, you'll coach and partner with caregivers, document progress, participate in IFSP meetings, and contribute to a compassionate, family-centered care environment. Responsibilities Provide home- and community-based music therapy to infants, toddlers, and families Conduct developmental and functional assessments to inform treatment planning Develop and implement individualized, music-based intervention plans Use music to support communication, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional development Coach and collaborate with caregivers to embed strategies into daily routines Work closely with an interdisciplinary early intervention team Participate in IFSP meetings and contribute professional recommendations Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress notes Travel within the service area to provide in-home and community visits Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and quality improvement activities Required Skills Music therapy techniques Assessment and treatment planning Early childhood development knowledge Pediatric developmental screening tools Family-centered coaching Documentation and electronic health records Interdisciplinary collaboration Behavioral and sensory regulation strategies Basic counseling skills Cultural competence
