Something 2 Talk About, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, creative, and Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our growing multidisciplinary pediatric therapy team. In this rewarding role, you will use evidence-based music therapy interventions to enhance communication, social-emotional development, cognitive skills, sensory regulation, and overall quality of life for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech and language disorders, intellectual disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. As an integral member of our collaborative team of Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and therapy assistants, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize music to promote learning, self-expression, emotional regulation, motor development, and functional communication. Services may be provided through individual and small-group therapy sessions in a fun, engaging, family-centered environment. Header Duties Develop and implement tailored music therapy plans aligned with each patient's clinical goals and needs. Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and recreational therapy to enhance mental health and behavioral health outcomes. Facilitate art therapy groups for children, incorporating creative expression to support emotional regulation and cognitive development. Collaborate closely with speech therapist, occupational therapist, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Engage in client communication to assess progress, adapt interventions as needed, and foster a supportive therapeutic environment. Experience Certification as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (CBMT) with active licensure in the state of Maryland. Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, or chronic illnesses. Demonstrated expertise in behavioral health interventions including behavioral therapy and mental health counseling. Prior experience facilitating individual and group therapy sessions in outpatient or clinical settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, CPT coding, and electronic medical records systems essential for accurate record keeping. Background working with pediatric populations and providing art therapy for children is advantageous. Strong client communication skills coupled with the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches based on patient needs are critical for success in this role.
