Qualifications:
Board Certified Music Therapist One year of clinical experience hospice experience preferred
Primary Objective:
To complement the work of the hospice team by providing music therapy to patients and their families enrolled in hospice
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Possesses Competent Music Skills
Understands and supports the hospice philosophy
Ability to learn about the special needs of the terminally ill and their family.
Respect for confidentiality.
Interpersonal relationship skills needed to communicate with people.
Possesses mature emotional qualities and can remain calm under difficult or unusual circumstances.
Ability to project sympathetic and compassionate attitude toward the ill.
Ability to exercise tact and good judgement.
Ability to set healthy boundaries.
Ability to maintain clients' self respect, personal dignity and safety.

Maintain the vision, mission and values of the organization
Remain up-to-date regarding agency policies and procedures and perform all functions in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures

Always maintain client confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Essential Functions:
Attendance
Provide music therapy in the hospice patient's place of residence or by Zoom
Evaluates patient's response to music and history of music preferences
Collaborates with IDG members to plan music interventions according to patient's needs
Responds to request for services promptly
Promptly report any changes in client condition to hospice case manager.
Document clearly and concisely in timely manner
Participate in funerals as requested
Participate in community events
Other duties as assigned by
Supervisor Work Environment:
Occasional exposure to unclean or unsanitary conditions during course of home visits.
Occasional exposure to pets and smokers
Requires travel by automobile.
Physical Demands:
This job involves lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. This position involves driving, sitting and standing and does not normally involve prolonged standing or repeated bending, squatting, stooping or similar strenuous duties

$30.00 - $33.00 per hour
