Wellstar is seeking an Outpatient Nuclear Med Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating gamma cameras and related imaging equipment, ensuring radiation safety, verifying orders, and collaborating with physicians and nurses. The technologist will educate patients, maintain accurate documentation, support quality improvement, and uphold regulatory and safety standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities Perform a full range of outpatient nuclear medicine procedures following established protocols. Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards. Operate gamma cameras, SPECT/SPECT-CT, and related imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images. Verify imaging orders, screen patients, and explain procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and self, following ALARA principles. Document procedures, doses, and patient information accurately in the electronic health record. Perform and document daily and periodic quality control tests on nuclear medicine equipment. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to optimize patient care and workflow. Ensure compliance with NRC, state, and institutional regulations and policies. Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.
