As Nucle ar Me dicine Technologist, you will ut ilize the latest med ical equipment and technology to attain functional images, prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and perform various non-imaging studies as necessary. In addition to working with complex apparatus, you will also spend a substantial amount of time interacting directly with both in- and outpatients, providing injections and scans. A caregiver in this position works days from 6: 0 0AM - 2:30 PM or 7 :00AM - 3 :30PM, with on-call requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform elution of 99mTc generators, prepare radiopha rmaceuticals and ensure compliance with regulations and recommendations by state/federal regulatory and accreditation agencies. Perform hot lab responsibilities, such as elution of generator according to prescribed procedure and manufacturer specifications using aseptic technique. Perform elute quality control using aseptic technique . Perform radiopharmaceuticals kit preparations and quality control according to departmental procedure and manufacturer specifications using aseptic techniques. Label and record required documentation according to department procedures. Administer radiopharmaceuticals according to dep artment protocol usin g aseptic technique in compliance with state/federal regulations and accreditation agencies. Ascertain correct patient, study and radiopharmaceuticals by checking patient I D, requis itions and radiopharmaceuticals label prior to radiopharmaceutical administration. Properly record pharmaceuticals. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and coopera tion. Ensure patient safety during and after exams. Assist with scheduling patients as need ed. Perfor m venipuncture as necessary and maintain competencies. Perform quality control and assurance procedures. Perform daily, weekly, quarterly and annual procedures on dose calibrators, scintillation well counter and thyroid probes, and scint illation cameras. Identify , document and report su b-optimum results to supervisor. Adhere to Departme nt of Health, TJC, and department regulations governing performance of above procedures. Maintain required record keeping and documentation for all diagnostic and therapeutic pro cedur es. Acquire , archive, transmit and print images via PACS. Complete after- hou rs trans mission of images and appropriate paperwork. Process billing via RIS. Perform nuclear imaging/counting procedures according to department protocols and computer acquisition and analysis. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine OR graduate of a two-year accredited school in an Allied Health Program OR certification from a CAHEA approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist Training Program Registered Technologist credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T(N) (ARRT)] in good standing OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Current state licensure (RL) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Y90 experience Excellent IV skills

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily. Requires exposure to radioactive material.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:

$39.00 Maximum hourly: $54.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
