: None Premier Physicians is currently seeking a PRN (as needed) Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Our growing group practice encompasses internal and family medicine, medical and surgical specialties, and has comprehensive on-site diagnostic centers conveniently located in the communities we serve in the Cleveland metro area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
: Responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules and coordinates patient exams. Prepares and injects radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures. Processes diagnostic imaging procedures and records radiopharmaceutical administration to patients. Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals. Perform quality assurance procedures on the equipment daily including daily/weekly surveys and wipe testing procedures as required. Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements. Performs other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Current Ohio Radiologic License and CPR certification.
EDUCATION
: Graduate of AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology.
EXPERIENCE
: Minimum two years in nuclear medicine. Registered by the ARRT or
MTCB. KNOWLEDGE
: Knowledge of nuclear medicine technology technical principles and procedures. Knowledge of quality care standards for nuclear medicine Knowledge of safety requirements for staff, patients, and visitors. Knowledge of NRC and state license regulations. Knowledge of OSHA standards.
SKILLS :
Skill in injecting radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures. Skill in starting intravenous lines. Skill in taking blood pressures. Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information. Skill in assuming responsibility for safety factors.
ABILITIES
: Ability to work in a cooperative environment within and outside department with staff, patients, and families. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to explain procedures clearly and simply to patients.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL
: Variety of standing, sitting, walking. Must be able to lift 50 pounds of equipment, to transfer patients, to hold patients in specific positions during procedures. Occasional stress from dealing with tense patients.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
: Medical office, exam, and treatment rooms. Exposure to radiopharmaceuticals and communicable diseases.
