The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care across a variety of surgical, procedural, and clinical settings. The CRNA assesses patients preoperatively, participates in the development and implementation of anesthesia plans, administers anesthetics, monitors patients throughout procedures, and manages post-anesthesia recovery. The CRNA practices within the scope defined by state law and the organization's care model, collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
(MINIMUM):
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
EXPERIENCE
Experience in hospital, ambulatory surgery, obstetric, trauma, or specialty anesthesia settings
Proficiency with regional anesthesia and advanced airway techniques
Experience participating in quality improvement or leadership initiatives
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a stressful situation
Certification in CPR and annual re-certification required
ACLS certification preferred
Knowledge of Patient Centered Medical Home, with
MIPS, HEDIS
requirements preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is demanding and stressful at times
Visual and auditory acuity are essential
Works indoors in a well-lit, well-ventilated area
May be exposed to communicable diseases
On-call coverage
