In this vital role, you will provide immediate medical attention to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, adults, and seniors, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your broad medical knowledge in a fast-moving environment that values proactive problem-solving and patient-centered care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgent health needs. Diagnose acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing advanced clinical evaluation techniques supported by EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks. Prescribe medications and treatments in compliance with DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, and wound care while maintaining sterile technique. Manage triage processes for incoming patients, prioritizing cases based on severity and urgency to optimize flow within the urgent care setting. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties including emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and infectious disease care to ensure comprehensive patient management. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for seamless medical records management. Provide patient education on diagnoses, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care plans. Support diagnostic evaluations using laboratory experience such as specimen collection/processing or sonography when necessary. Assist with post-acute care planning and discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care beyond urgent visits. Experience Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in urgent care settings or similar fast-paced environments such as emergency room or hospital medicine units. Strong background in acute care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR platforms like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry. Hands-on skills in procedures including suturing, IV infusion/insertion, catheterization, spinal tap procedures, and dermal fillers are highly desirable. Critical care experience with airway management, ventilator support, or dialysis is advantageous. Familiarity with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (Toddler/Neonatal), geriatrics (Memory/Dementia Care), behavioral health patients or individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your candidacy. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis coding systems such as CPT codes for procedures and
ICD-10/ICD-9
for diagnoses ensures accurate billing and documentation.
