Nurse Practitioner (PRN / Coverage)
Location:
Clearwater, FL (Fully On-Site)

Operational Hours:
Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and customer-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a PRN position providing primary and episodic care at an onsite workplace clinic supporting City of Clearwater employees. In this role, you will deliver high-quality clinical care, lead wellness initiatives, and collaborate closely with onsite healthcare teams and HR partners to drive employee health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Practice Management Primary & Episodic Care:
Provide workplace-based primary care services and low-acuity urgent care (episodic care) to employees.
Extended Acute Care:
Manage extended episodic acute conditions (typically 4-5 visits for short-term illnesses or injuries).
Testing & Prescriptions:
Oversee and perform CLIA-waived diagnostic testing and dispense prescription medications as required.
Wellness & Patient Engagement Biometric Screenings & Education:
Partner with employees on-site to conduct biometric screenings and deliver health and wellness education.
Health Coaching:
Conduct one-on-one health coaching sessions and refer patients to appropriate wellness and disease management programs.
HR & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate with local HR and Benefits teams to enhance employee health initiatives, working hand-in-hand with onsite providers, Medical Assistants, and clinical staff.
Required Qualifications Licensure & Certification:
MUST hold an active, unrestricted Autonomous Nurse Practitioner license in Florida . Active DEA licensure with full prescriptive authority.
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of NP experience working independently in an Internal Medicine or Family Practice setting. Strong primary care background, including experience with Women's Health . Chronic Disease Management experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency; EPIC experience is a plus.
Professional Attributes:
Flexibility and reliable attendance to cover clinic operational hours (Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM) when primary providers are on leave.
