The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care across diverse patient populations, including adolescents, geriatrics, trauma, and detox patients. This role involves collaborating with treatment teams, engaging with patients' families, and participating in peer reviews to ensure high-quality mental health services. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with a manageable caseload and one weekend commitment per month. Duties Manage a caseload of approximately 25 patients, providing psychiatric assessments and ongoing treatment plans. See patients across various settings, including detox units, trauma cases (with a focus on female trauma patients), and specialized populations such as adolescents and geriatrics. Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy sessions as appropriate. Lead and facilitate treatment team meetings to coordinate patient care effectively. Communicate regularly with patients' families to update on treatment progress and address concerns. Participate in peer reviews to maintain clinical standards and improve service quality. Assist with the development of individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Be comfortable managing complex cases requiring nuanced clinical judgment, including detoxification processes and trauma-related issues. Experience Prior experience working as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant or in a similar mental health setting is preferred. Comfortable seeing diverse patient populations such as adolescents, geriatrics, trauma survivors, and detox patients. Experience in running treatment team meetings and engaging with families is highly desirable. Ability to handle a moderate caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care. Strong communication skills for calling families and conducting peer reviews are essential. Knowledge of psychiatric medications, crisis intervention techniques, and familiarity with multidisciplinary team collaboration are important qualifications.
