Job Description

Southern Illinois Dermatology is a busy dermatology clinic with offices located throughout southern Illinois. We are locally owned and operated by board certified dermatologist, Dr. Ted Van Acker, since 1996. We have proudly served the southern Illinois region for 30 years! Come be part of our team! We are seeking a Full Time Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant to join our practice. The position is for an established patient base and is located in our Harrisburg office at 300 Small Street. We offer a 4 day 10 hour work week and competitive compensation. Previous Dermatology experience or knowledge is not required. The right candidate will undergo a 6 month in-house training program involving intensive on-the-job training. The training will include but not be limited to independent reading and learning, shadowing of multiple providers, introductory training with administrative staff, clinical protocol review and demonstration, and patient scheduling all graduating into direct patient care. On completion of training the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant should be proficient in assessing, diagnosing, and treating various dermatologic conditions, as well as possess strong skills in performing surgical procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and intermediate repairs. Preferred candidates would be those individuals looking for a permanent long-term position in dermatology. Successful candidate should have a strong interest in all things dermatology, eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, high level of professionalism, desire patient satisfaction, be comfortable leading a clinical team of nurses and/or medical assistants, and ability to adapt to electronic health record system.
